Suggested Use:
Maintain the balance of intestinal flora*:
• Two capsules daily (total of 500 mg per day can be divided into two occasions or taken together)
Promote intestinal health*:
• Four capsules daily (total of 1,000 mg per day can be divided into two to four occasions) for 30 days.

Swallow the capsule whole.
Open the capsule and empty the contents on your tongue. Follow immediately with a 4 oz. drink of water or juice.
Open the capsule and sprinkle over semi-solid food (applesauce, yogurt, etc.) and use immediately.
Open the capsule and dissolve the contents in liquid (water, juice, milk, formula, etc.) and use immediately.
How long does Florastor® take to work?
Florastor® capsules dissolve within approximately 30 minutes to allow Florastor® to start working to support your digestive balance.* Florastor® can only benefit your digestive health during days of administration.* Florastor® is naturally eliminated through the digestive tract and is undetectable within five days after last consumption.*
Who is Florastor® appropriate for?
Florastor® is appropriate for men, women, and children as young as two month.* For younger children and those who prefer not to swallow capsules, see the back panel for other ways the capsule contents can be consumed.
Do I need to refrigerate Florastor®?
No, Florastor® does not require refrigeration. Do not refrigerate Florastor® after opening as this could expose the cells to moisture and compromise the three-year shelf life. No refrigeration means Florastor® is perfect when traveling.
If I’m taking an antibiotic, can I take Florastor®, too?
Yes! Florastor® thrives even during antibiotic use and is proven to be resistant to 16 of the most common oral antibiotics.* Florastor® works hard to maintain your digestive balance when taken at the same time as your antibiotic dose.* Unlike bacterial probiotics, which can be compromised by antibiotics, Florastor® is a yeast-based probiotic that is naturally resistant to common antibiotics.*
Can I take Florastor® if I’m on a special diet?
Florastor® is vegetarian and gluten-free. The capsule is derived from pine bark. Florastor is not appropriate for vegan diets. Lactose is a minor component of Florastor® – about the same amount as a 1/3 slice of cheese. Since Florastor® can increase natural digestive enzymes in healthy individuals, Florastor® has been successfully taken by people sensitive to lactose.* However, a caution remains for individuals genetically incapable of producing the digestive enzyme, lactase.
Can I take Florastor® if I have food allergies?
Our quality manufacturing process does not include the risk of exposure or cross-contamination from egg protein, fish, gluten, latex, meat, nuts, shellfish or whey. Contains lactose that is sourced from milk.
Are there any situations when I should avoid using Florastor®?
Do not use Florastor® in the acute-care setting, especially in those individuals with open arterial and venous access required (such as a Vascath, Permcath, or AV fistula). Do not use for any individual with a central line or port or in the surroundings of any patient with a central line or port. Central lines include short- and long-term central venous catheters (CVCs) and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs). Do not use Florastor® for pre- or post- organ or bone marrow transplant patients and other patients considered severely immunocompromised or critically ill. Do not use Florastor® if allergic to any components (especially yeast).
What side effects can I expect while taking Florastor®?
Instances of side effects are rare, with less than 1% of individuals reporting mild constipation or thirst. An allergic reaction (such as skin rash) is a very rare occurrence.
